Master of Cultural Materials Conservation, The University of Melbourne, 2011

The art I make directly relates to the transactions between material, language and body. Materials and processes are integrally related to concept for each individual project. My previous works have used drawing, sculpture, photography, video, tattooing, paper, plastics, neon and mine/others body.

Working predominantly in project-based artworks, research and writing exists as an interconnected component to projects. My research interests are in the areas of embodied memory, embodied objects and phenomenology.

Parisia’s work has been exhibited in group exhibitions and prizes within Australia including the JADA drawing prize (2010); Drawing Blood, Green-Wood Gallery, Melbourne; Female capture, Trocadero Artspace, Melbourne; Hatched ’07 National Graduate show, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art. She has received a major pubic art commission ‘AGONY/ECSTASY ‘ in collaboration with Eddy Carroll and John Howland as part of the City of Melbourne Laneway Commissions 2008. In addition to writing, making and exhibiting, Parisia is commissioned to tattoo leather by the Melbourne fashion house MATERIALBYPRODUCT (2008-current).
